Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I sign up to the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour?
All you need to do is to play in one of the official WMF World Adventure Golf Tour events listed here. After you play you will automatically be entered in to the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour and be given ranking points depending on your performance. You can then view where you are on the Global Adventure Golf leaderboard here. You do not need to register with us or pay any kind of fee.
  • Do I need to play in every event?
No. Your ranking points (which are used both for the Global leaderboard and to decide who qualifies for the final) only count your three best event from a year. Of course, if you would like, you can play more than three events. This could give you a better chance of rising to the top of the Global leaderboard and earning your qualification to the final.
  • My country or favourite tournament is not included in the official WMF World Adventure Golf Tour Events. What should I do?
We worked hard with many Federations across the World to try and make sure that every prestigious Adventure Golf tournament would be included in the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour. If you know of an event that you think should be included in the Tour, you can Contact us here and we will take a look. If you know of a country that has an Adventure Golf course, but no tournament on it yet, please do let us know. We have the ability to self-host tournaments as dedicated WMF World Adventure Golf Tour qualification rounds. So this is something that we can also look in to.
  • There is a WMF World Adventure Golf Tour event that I would like to go to, but I am not sure on the best way to travel to the location or the best accommodation. What should I do?
Part of the free services we offer are helping Adventure Golf players around the World to get to whichever tournaments they would like to play in. On the individual course pages we have tried to include transportation and accommodation options, however we understand these may not suit everyone's need depending on home location and budget. Please contact us, let us know where you home location is, which event you would like to participate in and your budget. We can then work with our contacts in the Global federations and the course owners to help you find a suitable option.
  • What rule set do WMF World Adventure Golf Tour events use?
WMF MOS (Adventure Golf) rules will be updated in August 2023. For now, WMF World Adventure Golf Tour events which are organised by Federations will use individual rule sets decided by the Federation. Players who take part in the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour agree to play by the rules of the Federations and respect all decisions made as final. For WMF World Adventure Golf Tour events that are organised by the WMF WAGT organisation, the official WMF MOS (Adventure Golf) rules are applied.
  • How are ranking points assigned at each event?
[New rules for 24/25 Season: If the format of the Tournament is such that there is a Final Round for some top number of players, where these players are taken from the General/Absolute category, and where the ultimate winner of the Tournament is the player with the lowest score across all rounds of the Tournament, then the Final Round will be considered when assigning Ranking Points. Further, if sudden death play-offs are held for all tied positions for players who played in the Final Round, then the results of these play-offs will also be considered for the Ranking Points. To be clear on how this would work: before the start of the Final Round, Ranking Points would be assigned to all players who will not play in the Final Round, this means it would not be possible for a player who did not play in the Final Round to earn more points than a player who did, regardless of the outcome of the Final Round.] There are three important points: 1) Each WMF World Adventure Golf Tour event offers the same amount of ranking points. Regardless of how many people play each event. 2) Ranking points are assigned at the moment before any cut happens. So for example, if there is a cut for the final round of an event, then ranking points are assigned based on the positions just before the final round begins (or just before any play off). This means everyone playing in a WMF World Adventure Golf Tour event will earn ranking points, whether or not they make any cut. This also means that the player assigned the most ranking points, may not necessarily be the ultimate winner of the event. 3) If players are tied at the time when we assign ranking points, then they each take the average of ranking points available. For example: if three players are tied for sixth place, they each take the average of the points usually assigned to sixth, seventh and eighth place. Depending on your place in a WMF World Adventure Golf Tour event, you will earn the following ranking points:
  • How is the WMF World Adventure Gold Tour ranking decided?
First, you get ranking points assigned at each WMF World Adventure Golf Tour event that you play. Then we add you three best events from the last year. Then we add you three best events from between one year and two years ago, and divide these by two, before adding to the above total. The formula looks like this: Where: Are your three best events from the the last year. And: Are your three best events from between one year and two years ago. The person with the highest points total will be the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour #1. (Note: That while the Global Leaderboard looks at events from the past 2 years, the Final qualification is different. That looks at your three best events in the same tournament year - starting at the FiAGM and ending at the AusO.)
